Author Biography

Rita Shelton Deverell

Rita Shelton Deverell is a broadcaster, TV producer, journalism professor, and theatre artist. She is a two-time Gemini Award winner, a founder of Vision TV, and a Member of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the Order of Canada. Deverell has taught at the Universities of Regina, Western Ontario, and Ryerson, and at Centennial College. From 2002 to 2005 she was head of News and Current Affairs at the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, mentoring her Aboriginal successor.
